Runner assistance voice no longer working

I am a daily cyclist who likes to hear the distance announcements as I ride. N&F tracks my rides very well, but no longer announces the distance increments nor does it vibrate my band 3. My phone is a OnePlus 7 Pro with latest Android Pie update. I have tested all settings I can find in N&F as well as permissions on my phone. Anyone have any suggestions for what I have missed?

    Hi. I have a miband 4. I get the vibrations on the distance increments but I don't get any vocal announces from the phone. Maybe this functionality has been discarded?

    Thank you, GCM. As an alternative I installed Google Fit for announcements. Of course, that means starting two apps' activities at the start of my ride.
