Workout type and steps / pace

I mostly do 2 types of workouts: mountain biking and strength training.
For both of them I am interested in keeping my heart rate in check. But none of these have anything to do with steps.
Obviously strength training doesn't require a pace analysis, too. I would argue that I also don't need a pace for mountain biking, since I often go steep uphill and downhill, which changes the pace (time per km) extremely.
To be honest, I only know pace to be useful for jogging, but correct me if I am wrong.
Anyway, would be great if I could at least disable the steps if I don't do a workout involving steps.

On a side note, thanks for adding the possibility to pause / resume a workout! Very useful for not chopping up your recorded track on long bike rides!

  • I agree with you, the passes are useless as they vary depending on the length of stride of the runner. It would be very useful to be able to measure the pace more precisely in km / min since we can know the best heart rate for a race.
