Updating firmware with Mi Fit ?

I have the pro version of Notify & fitness for mi band.
I don't want to update my mi band 4 firmware in the Notify & Fitness app for fear of bricking my device. I currently use the Notify app alone. Would it mess anything up on my band or Notify app if I installed the mi fit app, ran firmware update, and then uninstalled it?

Could I do my firmware updates that way?

    I followed exactly that way of working earlier this week after I tried updating the firmware via N&F and it didn't work.
    You may need to reconnect the band after uninstalling MiFit
