Sleep analysis
There are now 4 different versions for the sleep analysis function but no explanation what the differences are.
I was wondering which settings you guys use to track your sleep.
Especially since I get vastly different results depending on the settings I use. Really, it's kind of strange, ranging from "very good sleep" to "very bad sleep" depending on the settings.
The settings I tweak are
1. Sleep analysis version
2. Sleep analysis level
3. Early bird setting
The 3rd one I obviously change around cause I want to be woken up during a light sleep phase. But I feel this is not working because the sleep phases are always different depending on the other 2 settings.
I would love to know how you guys have your app set up to track your sleep and if you get better results

Good one! I always pick the newest version without really knowing why. I mixed some settings, but get various results. I'd like to see some explanation too so I know which to choose.
Yea well, I switched to the newest one also (2.4 at that time) but immediately went from "very good sleep" to "very bad sleep", so I changed it back to 1.0. Also I generally get less deep sleep when using a more detailed analysis level. It's all very confusing to say the least
At first I liked the smiley to show how well I slept, but even when I felt I slept well it showed a sad smiley. I didn't really understand that feature either so I disabled it.
So I was doing some "research" on that and found out that it is considered a "healthy" sleep when you spend 20% of your total sleep time in deep sleep. I guess that's what the smiley face is based on.

Hi,
sleep quality is calculated by total deep sleep minutes / total sleep minutes. If ratio is lower than 20% bad sleep quality is showed.
Different sleep analysis versions have been released due to recent mi band firmware updates.
Users using an old firmware can stay with first version 1.0
Users using a recent firmware should use most recent version.
This is general suggestion, but there isn't a mandatory rule about that, anyone can choose between the preferred version (comparing the sleep results)
I'm still working on sleep analysis algorithm to improve results.
Hi,
sleep analysis is far from good. I'm a bad sleeper and it almost never noticing the wake up phases. If my pulse is normal (not low) and I'm walking it means I'm awake but notify shows light sleep. The deep sleep phases are inconsistent. My normal pulse is 58-60 and it shows deep sleep with 113 pulse. I'm not a doctor but it's not deep sleep for sure. And for last, the deep sleep value is way more less then any other app shows. If I check the same night with three apps, the other two shows almost the same (1h 42m) and notifiy shows 34m.
I don't like the quality of sleep detection and interpretation on last three app releases. Considering some other fitness tracker as my mi band 1s shows not good performance recently. I don't know if it is an app dependent result or it is a device dependent. In sleep tracking I notice huge gaps of gray not tracked areas. The device is charged more than 50% always, so I believe it didn't die in a middle of the night because of discharged...
Users using an old firmware can stay with first sleep analysis version 1.0
If only this could fix my problem! Unfortunately, gray untracked gaps I get on old sleep analysis too!
